Saro The Musical’ premiered in London Westend from August 24th until August 29th at the Shaw Theatre, West End taking the breath of London based theatre lovers. The breath taking show was a sold out from day 1.
Produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions (BAP), and sponsored by the MTN Foundation, ‘SARO’ is a rich showcase of Nigerian arts and culture. Set in modern Lagos, the theatre act is a celebration of migrants to the economic hub from other parts of Nigeria, with a focus on four talented young men who face a series of challenges as they chase better fortunes in the ‘city of dreams.’
From Thursday, August 24 to Tuesday, August 29, Saro sold out Shaw Theatre with audiences enjoying the two-hour revelry and celebration of Lagos. There was music, dance, a touch of heritage woven into what feels a timeless story of village boys trying to make it in the big city in the fast lane from rags to riches.
This will be Bolanle Austen-Peterers 2nd production showcase in London after the huge success of ‘WAKAA‘ Last year. London based Nigerian, as well as Nigerians who were in the UK for various reasons, came out to support and enjoy the last show which ended with a standing ovation.
