Afrobeats sensation Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, discovered his passion for music while studying communication media at Oxford Brookes University in the UK. At the age of 20, Burna Boy allegedly got banned from the UK due to his involvement in a gang-related crime and subsequent “jumping bail” during parole.

Upon returning to Nigeria, he informed his family that he no longer wished to pursue a university education. Two days later, he co-hosted a morning radio program where he showed off his talent and played ‘Freedom Freestyle’ for the head of programs at the station, and it became the song of the week.

He would later need a manager to help him navigate the music industry after releasing his hit single, ‘Freedom Freestyle.’ In a stroke of genius, he turned to his biggest fan, his mother, Bose Ogulu, and asked if she would be willing to take on the role.

She recognised Burna Boy’s immense talent and potential, eagerly accepted the offer, and guided his career to new heights. Burnaboy has proved time and time again that he is not a saint or the cool and calculated type.

On August 24th, a video of the singer walking out of his mother, his grandfather and a journalist surfaced. His mother looking unimpressed with his attitude, further reminding us how strong-headed Burna boy can be.

How does Bose Ogulu keep a man like Burna Boy on the right track and out of big trouble? Has everything been rosy since the start of his career? Is his mother the reason why Burna Boy doesn’t have baby mama issues?
