On Saturday, award-winning Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie revealed that she is working on a children’s book that will be published next year, 2023.
As if she knows her fans are waiting for her new work. She made the revelation during a fireside chat with Dr. Eghosa Imasuen of Narrative Landscape Press at the 2022 Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The multi-award-winning author stated that she does not intend to write books for children. However, her only daughter’s life inspired her to write the book. “It’s a picture book based on my daughter’s life. It’s about my daughter and I want her to see herself in the book,” she said.
Chimamanda is one of those writers with a magic pen, and everything she writes is gold. Without a doubt, her fans, especially those with children are very excited and looking forward to her new children’s book.
