Although popular clothing international clothing brand H&M has apologised for an advert showing a black child in a green hoodie bearing the words “Coolest monkey in the jungle”. Top celebrities including Piddy, The weekend, Floyd Mayweather among others voice their opening over the shocking image.
H&M UK has taken down the photo replacing it with just the green hoodie with the slang after causing an internet frenzy since yesterday, January 8.
Singer The Weekend who is the brand’s ambassador has dropped the brand after seeing the shocking image on the internet. “I am deeply offended and will not be working with HM anymore,” He wrote.
The trend has also gone to another level as photoshop experts recreate and change the slag on the hoodie with words such as; Royalty, Black is Excellence, King, King of the Jungle among other empowering slangs.
