Every year, at least one Nigeria breaks a world record and makes it to the Guinness Book of Records, putting the country on the global map and giving it a massive PR. Not too long ago, young chef and fast-rising food entrepreneur, Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, got the global culinary art world talking after she broke the record for longest marathon cooking by an individual. The 26-year-old beauty from Akwa-Ibom State beat former title holder Lata Tondon an Indian Chef who set the record in 2019 after cooking for 86 hours and 45 minutes.

In the event tagged, Cook-A-Thon, Hilda didn’t just cook over 55 recipes and over 100 meals; she cooked for 100 whooping hours. Of course, Hilda is not the first Nigerian to set an iconic Guinness World Record. There are many other people who, like Hilda, all deserve to be recognized. So, sit back as we introduce you to Nigerians who got the whole world talking after smashing an almost impossible-to-break Guinness World Record.
