The Guinness World Records has now confirmed Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon in the individual category.

This was announced on Twitter moments ago.

“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes,” GWR said in a statement released on Tuesday, one month after Baci’s adventurous cooking.

Weeks ago, Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, achieved a 100-hour record of marathon cooking.

The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday, May 11, and continued through Monday, May 15, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.

Supporters at the cook-a-thon competition, which took place at the Amore Gardens in Lekki, shared videos of themselves cheering the young chef as well as celebrating her for achieving the milestone.

Following this certification, after the 100th hour, Hilda has now displaced the current world record holder, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who achieved the feat in 2019 with 87 hours and 45 minutes of uninterrupted cooking.
