Controversial Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has made her intention public to be the next wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The Ooni of Ife, who has six wives and is rumoured to want to take a seventh wife, is yet to reply.
It was reported that the screen diva took to Instagram to share a video of her and the monarch.
According to Nkechi, she wants to be Ooni’s next wife.
The thespian disclosed that she was patiently waiting for her turn. The mother of one also provided an Instagram page for the Ooni to reach her through.
She wrote; “Ooni of Ife, sir, I am patiently waiting for my turn. Thank you in advance, sir. You can reach me thru #drisconnectingnigeria”.
Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, revealed the reason why he decided to take several wives weeks ago.
The monarch explained that he tried making some changes, but he couldn’t. Maybe referring to his decision to keep to only one queen and have concubines, the monarch said of the traditional heritage of Ile Ife.
Remember that an Ifa priest has reportedly revealed the reason for the Ooni of Ife’s recent spree of marriage, claiming a deadline is involved just as the Ooni is set to take a 7th wife.
Earlier reports began to circulate that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, is set to marry the 7th wife, Aridunu. The is said to be slated for the 29th of October 2022.
This is coming barely 48hours after the revealed Monarch married his sixth wife, Princess Temitope Adesegun.
A YouTuber on Instagram disclosed a conversation between an Ifa priest and a friend where it was stated that the Ooni was simply following tradition and had a deadline to meet.
He’s alleged to have had 13 wives before the allotted time is up.
The Ooni palace is yet to verify or deny the claim.
