Miss Universe Great Britain 2017: London Has The Universe In Her Reach!

Tina Antwi also known as Tina Charisma from Croydon is in the running to represent Great Britain at the Miss Universe pageant in July.

She has launched a campaign called the “Charisma Campaign which support two charities “Strong Bones and Shereoes. Strong Bones work with and supports children with bone diseases in the UK and Shereoes works with survivors of acid attacks in India. In addition, to her fundraising efforts the UK and India, she will also be supporting educational charities in Ghana this year – leading youth workshops and seminars to help inspire advocate change in areas around education, female health and wellbeing.

Tina has previously served in Youth Parliament and has received several awards for her contribution to the community she was nominated for young person of the year in 2014 and a Rare rising star award.   She currently works with helping young people build skills for work and life and youth development programs. In addition, to this, she received a prize for her research paper on race and identity and is publishing her book “Black Skin Carved Mask” in June which addresses sense of belonging and identity of African immigrants in the UK.

Tina’s official sponsors for the finals will be Health and Aesthetic Clinic which is an ethical beauty clinic who support empowering women through Beauty treatments and also specialise in providing treatments for ethnic skin.

As well as getting the opportunity to represent the UK for around three weeks at an exotic overseas location later this year at Miss Universe, the winner of Miss Universe Great Britain will also visit India to support the Sheroes Hangout initiative which helps women who have been the victim of acid attacks.
