A petition to stop Windsor Council from removing rough sleepers ahead of the Royal wedding has hit over 100,000 signatures this week and led to the leader of Windsor Council defending their plans.
Council leader Simon Dudley told the BBC “The key thing is to draw the distinction between homelessness – which is an abomination in a civilised society – and anti-social behaviour, which is a very bad and deteriorating situation in Windsor.”
The council leader for Windsor is demanding police use legal powers to clear the area of homeless people by the 19th May. Which is also the date set for Prince Harry Windsor and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding at the St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The level of tourist interest is set to multiply with the royal wedding in May 2018.
