African Magic Supports Africa Fashion Week Nigeria

Africa Fashion Week, the leading platform for showcasing emerging and exciting fashion talent in the country, has announced Africa Magic as its Media Partner for the 2015 edition of the Fashion Week in Nigeria. The annual African Fashion Week Nigeria provides aspiring Nigerian designers with an opportunity to showcase their works to the continent and the rest of the world. AFWN 2015 will take place on the 23rd and 24th of May 2015 at the Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking on the partnership, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Director, M-Net (West) said: “At Africa Magic, we take pride in not only being the continent’s leading provider of world class entertainment content, but also in our role as stakeholders in the development of the entertainment industry. Fashion remains an integral part of this industry, and also features prominently on our Africa Magic channels particularly on our magazine shows. We are thus extremely delighted to support the Africa Fashion Week which symbolizes what the Africa Magic brand stands for – providing entertainment for Africa by Africa.”

Africa Magic is the continent’s leading provider of world class entertainment content. The first Africa Magic channel was launched in 2003; over the years the brand continues to grow as it now offers eight channels providing a blend of movies, music, drama series and magazine shows.

“The Africa Fashion Week is a bold move to positively portray Africa and the exciting talents on the continent. The platform that the show presents is invaluable to not just the various designers, tailors models and others involved, but also in its very existence as a major cultural export. It is in this light that Africa Magic is supporting the Africa Fashion Week for the second consecutive year,” added Mba-Uzoukwu.

In addition to the recent launch of the Africa Magic Igbo channel, the Africa Magic brand recently refreshed its Urban channel, a move which followed the redefinition of its channels in 2014.
