Barack Obama Releases His Summer Playlist For 2020 – Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid & Tems Makes The Cut

Former President Barack Obama on Monday continued his tradition of sharing his annual summer playlist with musicians including John Legend, Billie Eilish and performers set to take the Democratic National Convention stage this week as part of preparation for the forthcoming November presidential election in the United States of America.

The ex-president’s list featured over 50 songs from different artists from different continents around the world.

From Beyoncé, Shatta Wale, Major Lazer’s ‘Already’, to Jorja Smith and Burna Boy‘s ‘Be Honest’, Khalid, Disclosure, Davido and Tems ‘Know Your Worth’ remix, and Wizkid and H.E.R.’s ‘Joint “Smile’.

Other notable additions include Rihanna and Drake‘s 2016 track ‘Work’, Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé‘s ‘Savage’ remix, Mac Miller‘s ‘Blue World’, Anderson. Paak‘s ‘Lockdown’

The playlist also features, Chika, an American rapper, born to Nigerian-American parents.

Obama said he and his family have spent the past few months listening to the songs curated in the playlist.

The annual musical compilation is a routine which has become part of Obama’s social fun time memories as it helps the Obama’s get through summer, and the latest is also sure to help them get through the coronavirus pandemic.

Sharing the list on his Instagram page, Obama explained that he and his family have spent the past few months listening to the songs curated in the playlist and he decided to give followers a feel of his summer playlist.

“Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer––including songs from some of the artists performing at this week’s @DemConvention,” Barack Obama wrote on Instagram. “As always, it’s a mix of genres that travels through various eras. I think there’s something in here for everybody––hope you enjoy it.”
