COVID-19 Relief Fund: Check Out the Able Nigerians That Have Redemmed Their Pledge

Since the emergence of the dreaded COVID-19 in Nigeria, prominent figures in different industrial sectors across the country has promised to help cushion the effect of the virus with cash donations.

Now the Central Bank of Nigeria has released names of thirty seven Nigerians that have donated as corporate and individuals to the fight against coronavirus in the country.

The list sees apex businessmen like Aliko Dangote, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Femi Otedola and Deji Adeleke all make astronomical contributions alongside powerhouses in the banking industry and the Central Bank itself.

A breakdown of the contributions showed that the Central Bank of Nigeria and Aliko Dangote donated N2billion each, while Abdul Samad Rabiu (Bua Sugar Refinery); Segun Agbaje (GTB); Tony Elumelu (UBA); Oba Otudeko (First Bank); Jim Ovia (Zenith Bank); Herbert Wigwe (Access Bank) and Femi Otedola of Amperion Power Distribution donated N1 Billion each to the relief fund.

Other contributors are Standard Chartered, Multichoice Nigeria Limited, Rand Merchant Bank, Heritage Bank, Polaris Bank, Takagro Chemicals Limited and MRS Etuh Foundation.

CBN has so far received the sum of N15,325 Billion.

The publication is to ensure transparency in the utilization of relief funds.
