We all know Davido is a talented artist who has little regard for controversy and abhors being the center of attention for the wrong reasons.

Well, the singer seems to have been dragged into one over the past few hours after appearing in a PR video intended at promoting a church program organized by CommonWealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

In the promotional video, Davido was seen quizzing a little girl about where she would be in the first few days of the coming year. The girl replied back by saying she would be at an event in her church alongside her mother.

The video went viral on social media and was quick to draw enormous backlash from social media users who called out the singer for promoting the church of alleged rapist pastor, Biodun Fatayinbo.

Well, the singer has now come out to clear the air.

Davido released a statement on December 18, 2019, via his Twitter account where he denounced having any connection with the church. The Risky singer did acknowledge his involvement in a short video alongside a little girl, but added that the girl was a fan and the daughter of a known associate, and he did not know the video would be used in promoting a church program.

‘it is fraudulent and extremely disrespectful,” he wrote, adding that he has established contact with the church and asked for the withdrawal of the video.
