Nigerian music star Oyebanjo Dapo also known as Dbanj has settled with Seyitan Babatayo, the 25-year-old woman who accused him of rape.

Recalled that Seyitan had in June accused Dbanj of raping her in a hotel on December 30, 2018.

STER said in an official statement that Seyitan has agreed to a private settlement devoid of any monetary compensation with the music star.

“We hereby officially notify you of our client’s intention to withdraw and discontinue her petition against Mr Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’Banj for personal reasons.

“Our client further humbly applies that the investigation and all other action that is currently being carried out by the police with respect to the statement,” the letter reads in part.

STRR also disclosed that they refused to be involved in talks over a settlement  between the ‘Oliver Twist’ crooner and the young lady as it goes against the organisation’s policy.

“Such settlements, in our experience, often involve an asymmetry of power between the accused and the victim.”

Reports of the settlement has been confirmed by investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, who took to her Twitter page with court documents showing that Dbanj has been cleared of the rape accusation.
