Ernest Shonekan, former head of the interim national government, has been laid to rest. Shonekan, who passed on January 11, was dropped in his own grave at Lagos. Dignitaries at the state funeral which held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, included Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos; Yakubu Gowon, former military head of state, and his wife, Victoria; and former President Goodluck Jonathan.
