Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu has lift the lid on why he took to the street to beg for alms in a video clip that went viral on social media few days ago.
On Monday, Nigerians were left surprised and sad by the video which showed the former popular actor begging for financial assistance in public in his bare skin. In the video, Asuzu looked sick and disorientated as he was cornered and interviewed by a concerned Nigerian identified as John Louise.
Now in a new video clip, the former movie star has revealed why he took to the street in such a disoriented state. Asuzu, who starred alongside jim Iyke in home videos during his heydays, said he went shirtless not because he was mentally derailed, but because he needed help.
According to the actor, he deliberately roamed around shirtless so that he would gain the attention of Nollywood practitioners. He added that it was the only way he could make people know about his sufferings. He also solicited financial assistance from kind Nigerians to enable him pay his medical expenses.
Asuzu is currently down with stroke and needs help. He went public with the illness few years ago in an interview.
