Without a doubt, being a celebrity, Afrobeats icon and record label owner is complex, but when it’s coupled up with being a father to not 1, 2, but 3 beautiful kids from 3 different baby mama’s is so much harder.
For Davido, he has to plan and perform at concerts, manage his record label, network with people in the entertainment industry, travel, go on album tours, and of course, maintain an excellent social media presence. However, even in combination with all of these, Davido makes fatherhood look effortless and cool.
Even though this may sound so picturesque, the Assurance crooner who was so reluctant to embrace fatherhood six years ago is surprisingly now slaying it and setting a precedent for his colleagues in the entertainment industry. Indeed, making babies comes with many financial, emotional, and physical obligations, especially as a celeb. One has to be present in their babies life and attend to their needs, in some cases, change diapers, but Davido seems to have found his ways around all of these.
He may not be there to witness their first walk, read their favourite bedtime stories, play tooth fairy, or even be best friends with their mothers, but OBO seemingly always shows up for all his kids. Most recently, on the occasion of his son Ifeany’s 2nd birthday, which was first celebrated by his mother Chioma on October 20th, Davido, who was away on the day, came through two days later by throwing an even bigger birthday party for their baby boy.
