For a man who could twist tales to generate traffic, there’s every possibility that Reno Omokri, the former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan is telling lies about Peter Obi’s fans threatening his life.
As noticed, he has moved to his verified social media handles to complain about the deluge of life-threatening threats from supporters of Peter Obi.
“What exactly did I say? I said Peter Obi was wrong to describe himself as a pilot and other Presidential candidates as ‘mere drivers’ and ‘substitute players’. That is why they are threatening my life. If I was in Nigeria, they would have sent unknown gunmen after me.
Now, imagine if Rabiu Kwankwaso had described himself as a pilot and other Presidential aspirants, and Peter Obi in particularly, as ‘mere drivers’. What will they do? I reported their threat to my life to Peter Obi directly. He did nothing.
The threats are becoming too much. My life is at risk. If anything happens to me, my wife, my children, or my siblings, the world should hold Peter Obi responsible. He has raised a horde of intolerant and violent Obidients who just want to replace Buhari’s tyranny with theirs!”
Well, this is a man that cunningly started as an anti-Peter Obi individual during the Primaries. At some points, he seemed to be eating his vomits by gradually switching mouths into positive things about the Labour Party flag-bearer.
When Obedient (Peter Obi’s followers) spotted his hypocrisy and made him understand that he was looking for attention, he became angered. He began claiming that his one-year-old daughter was being threatened:
“Watch what they are doing to me. That is exactly what they will do to anyone critical of Peter Obi if he becomes President. There will be no free speech. Only mob justice. They threatened my one-year-old daughter. Why? Because I criticized their god and messiah.”
In the end, he added his normal hashtag which says”#tableshaker.”
Reno thrives in controversies, and the more relevant he becomes in them, the more money he makes. For one who would say something terrible about single mothers today, and turns back a few months later to say something that goes against his initial statement, it shows he’s lagging in consistency.
You have a country where many are crying, and people dying of hunger. What do you expect the youths to do when they see someone online stating that the man whom they all believe has the capacity to salvage the country from the mess, isn’t fit to wear the crown? The least they can do is to match the individual word to word. You don’t expect them to keep quiet while Reno postulates notions that are intentionally meant to support the affairs of the political oppositions.
Reno is afraid because he has met a lot of people who are his matches – people like David Hundeyin who accused him of impregnating an Ethiopian babe and abandoning his wife with three kids in California.
We all know that most of the investigative journalism from David has turned out to be true. So, rather than address the issue about his personal life, the coward in Reno is birthed by accusing Obidients of threatening his life.
People who have understood Reno to be a man after controversies know he’s just after media fame and money. Even if the country is burning, someone like him would only see avenues to make money from the predicament.
Reno lives in a glass house, and shouldn’t throw stones at people. When people decide to hurl back the stones he threw at them, he shouldn’t be a coward by not telling the police the simple truth.
