Nollywood’s fantastic four; Ufuoma McDermott, Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha and Omoni Oboli reunited for the first time in years.
Recall that since 2018, there were speculations that the best friends had parted ways as they were rarely seen together.
In July 2019, McDermott put together a live-theatre experience at the Eko Hotel and Towers in Lagos, tagged “The USM Show with Ufuoma McDermott”. The event was a potpourri of live music, dance performances and a debut of her stage production “The Magic of a Dream”.
The Magic of a Dream was directed by Toritseju Ejoh and featured acting performances from several notable Nigerian thespians including Femi Branch, Chioma Akpotha, Offiong Anthony (Thin Tall Tony), Akah Nani and Zara Udofia-Ejoh. The USM Show also featured live music and comedy performances from a range of Nigerian entertainers, including, Teni the entertainer, Seyi Law and MC Abbey
Well, Uche Jombo has put the speculations to rest following the latest post she made online.
Sharing a photo of them all, Uche Jombo announced that the fantastic four would all be in Dubai On August 16.
Over 200 Nollywood film(s) are credited to Jombo’s name, sometimes as Uche Jumbo. Her 20 screenplay credits of Nollywood classics include Games Men Play, Lies Men Tell, Holding Hope, A Mother’s Fight, Unconditional, A Time to Love, Be My Wife, and Celebrity.
In 2008, she started executive production of her own films through her Uche Jombo studios production company. In 2012, she married Kenny Rodriguez and proceeded to direct in 2015 after the birth of her son Matthew. Her directing credits include Lost in Us, How I Saved My Marriage and the Nollywood box office true-life drama Heaven on My Mind.
She was among the several celebrities like Omoni Oboli, Laura Ikeji and some more, to launch GrandLux Cafe located in Lekki on the 30th of November 2018.
According to Jombo, 12 winners would be selected on Instagram to join them in the luxury city.
In her words;
“How my girls and I will show up in Dubai on August 16th, the Dubai Girls will do a LIVE INSTAGRAM random blind selection from all the comments to select 12 winners to be wutg us in Dubai from 6th – 11th. Good luck”.
Since she made this announcement, many has been expressing joy at their reunion.
