Nkem Owoh to Star in Play Network Sequel, ‘Osuofia Goes To Miami’

Popular Nigerian film producer and Play Network CEO, Charles Okpaleke has announced that the film production company have commenced the production of a new sequel to 2003 blockbuster film, ‘Osuofia in London’.

Okpaleke made the big reveal via his Instagram page on Friday, August 14, 2020. The award-winning filmmaker wrote, “One thing I can assure you is when cinemas return, we’ve got it all lined up for the viewers till 2023! It’s called back to back!”

The upcoming movie titled ‘Osuofia Goes To Miami’, will reportedly be directed by Agozie Ugwu and veteran actor, Nkem Owoh will make a comeback as the lead character.

Following the success of Ukwa, the 2003 comedy hit ‘Osuofia in London’ is possibly the most acclaimed work by Owoh.

The film tells the story of a village man, Osuofia (Nkem Owoh), whose brother in London passes away. After his brother’s death, he is required to make a trip to London in order to finalize his inheritance of his brother’s properties. Upon getting there he realizes that everything isn’t quite on the straight and narrow.

Play Network Studios has released a list of Nollywood classics with modern remakes/re-tellings in the pipeline following the success of their 2019 remake of the classic movie ‘Living in Bondage’.
