News of Pastor Adeboye son’s Death came as a shock to many, especially his followers. Initially, many were in disbelief the powerful man of God lost a son, but after RCCG released an official statement confirming Dare’s death, Nigerians, both home and abroad and his followers, clergymen, and politicians, have all been pouring their condolence messages. Dare Adeboye, who looks very much like his father, was only a month shy of celebrating his 43rd birthday and is survived by a wife, Temiloluwa Adeboye, and three beautiful daughters. From the order of service released by RCCG for his burial, the 42-year-old son of Daddy G.O will be laid to rest on May 11 of 2021.

Who is Dare Adeboye?

Oluwadamilare Temitayo Adeboye was born on June 9, 1978, to Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye. He is their third biological child out of four children and also their third son, who may explain why he looks very much like his father, Pastor Adeboye. He grew up among his sibling, Leke Adeboye, Bolu Adubi (nee Adeboye), and Adeolu Adeboye, and studied Law at the University. Although Dare described himself as cool, calm, and collected in christ, his parents, on his 42nd birthday last year, called him their miracle child who put the devil to shame at his birth.

Like his parents, Dare Adeboye, fondly called Pastor Dee, dumped his law degree to become a pastor under RCCG and is regarded as one of the most influential youth pastors in RCCG. He reportedly dedicated his life to nurturing, educating, and inspiring young people. He served in various capacities under RCCG, including serving as the Senior Pastor of RCCG House of Praise in Birmingham, Provincial youth pastor of RCCG Kaduna, and Youth Pastor of RCCG Region 8.

He also spearheaded many programs including, organizing the committee of 70 Hours Messiah’s Marathon Praise, the National Youth Conventions Northern Zone Abuja SHIFT and serving as both the Chairman and the National and International Director of Programs of RCCG Youth Affairs. He also served as the youth pastor for RCCG Northcentral region, including RCF, RCCF, and PSF in Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau State, and Abuja. Before his death, he was serving as the pastor of the City of David-Eket, Awka Ibom State, where he resides with his family, and in his last post on social media, dating back to April 29, 2021, Dare Adeboye said that he was “preparing to receive the scepter of favour.” Sadly, he passed away before he could speak it to existence.

How He Died

According to reports, the 42-year-old son of Pastor Adeboye died in his sleep at his residence in Eket, Awka Ibom State. He had retired to his bedroom on Tuesday, May 4, to take a nap and asked not to be disturbed. His wife, who left their home to attend to other important things, became bothered about the long sleeping hours of her husband and tried reaching him via her cell phone. When there was no response, she raised the alarm, and he was later discovered dead. His wife, who was in disbelief, called pastors from their church to pray that his soul is restored and he is brought back to life, all to no avail. Before his death, Dare Adeboye had officiated service on Sunday, May 2 of 2021, and his church members confirmed that he showed no signs of illness as he was his usual vibrant self.

Following the news of his death, RCCG confirmed the reports in a statement released on their verified Twitter account. Describing Dare as their beloved son, brother, husband, and father who went to be with the lord, they noted that the ministry had lost a fearless leader. Also noting that his life was well-lived as he served the Lord without reserve and giving effortlessly, they disclosed that they are assured they will meet him one day in a place where there is no pain. Finally, they asked that Pastor Adeboye and his family be granted privacy to grieve, and they be supported with prayers.

His Wife and Children

The late Dare Adeboye is survived by a wife, Temiloluwa Adeboye, and three daughters. Due to their love for privacy, not much is known about her or her children. However, they were reportedly married for at least 12 years and celebrated their wedding anniversary yearly on December 28 with other members of the Adeboye family. Apart from being a pastor’s wife, she reportedly runs an online store, Lindley Luxury Treats.

How his Family have reacted

Since the sad news of Dare’s death went viral, only his brother, Leke Adeboye, has reacted on social media. Leke Adeboye has been sharing bible passages relating to death on his Instagram page. In one of his posts, he wrote, “The righteous perish at the hand of evil, and no one takes it to heart. Faithful and devout men are taken away while no one understands that the righteous person is taken away to be spared from disaster and evil.” Leke Adebayo

Also chastizing those asking him to be strong, he wrote, “what’s this “Stay strong. Weakness is a form of strength.” But when you understand death, your body, soul, and spirit. He is just doing advanced team. We just need to make sure we arrive with either the principal (Jesus) at rapture or do our own advance party, whatever way, just make sure you make it to heaven. You stay strong, don’t get wrong. P.Dee crossed a bridge.”

Shockingly, Pastor Adeboye, who many thoughts were overwhelmed with grief, has made his first public appearance since news of his son’s death. And it was to officiate the holy communion service on Thursday, May 6 of 2021. His sermon was titled “overflowing blessing.”
