Pat McGrath MBE is a world-renown British-born editorial and runway make-up artist extraordinaire. The sought-after make-up professional has recently been appointed as Beauty Editor of British Vogue magazine by new Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful.

Daughter to a Jamaican Migrants, McGrath’s big break was said to be in the early 1990s, where she worked at i-D, when the magazine saw her international importance.

The professional artist has since worked with a number of high profile photographers including Steven Meisel. Her work can be found in many fashion publications including i-DVogueW, and Harper’s Bazaar.

She has worked on various fashion shows during fashion season each year and has worked with designers including Prada, Miu Miu, Comme des Garçons and Dolce and Gabbana. Additionally, she designed Armani’s cosmetics line in 1999 and in 2004 was named Global Creative Design Director for Procter and Gamble, in charge of Max Factor and Cover Girl cosmetics, among other brands.

McGrath is known to take between 30 and 50 bags of materials, tools and reference materials to work locations.

She is also known for using bold colours and she can be extremely experimental with materials which include feathers and ornaments.

She is a trendsetter and has been influential in trends ranging from thick eyebrows to coloured lashes, making every face she touches a statement piece. Her innovation and impulsive outlook to life are what help her to create the vibrant and legendary looks seen throughout numerous catwalks and fashion shows.

After years of lending her skills to various collaborations where she has helped create cosmetics collections for Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and Gucci, including working as the Creative Design Director for Procter & Gamble on various projects, she finally took the plunge in 2015 and went out on her own launching the Pat McGrath Labs make-up line – ‘Where unadulterated experimentation meets raw glamour’.

Huge Congratulations to her!
