The nominations for the 7th African Magic Viewers’ Awards have been released.
Ramsey Nouah leads the way for most nomination for the 2020 edition.
Nouah got nominated in four categories for both his acting and directorial roles. While his 2019 directorial debut hit flick, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free was nominated in 10 categories, the highest of any movie.
For his acting exploits, the movie star got nominated for Best Actor in Drama and Comedy categories thanks to his roles in movies ‘Levi’ and ‘Merry Men’. He also earned a nod in Best Supporting Actor for his role in his aforementioned hit movie.
While for Nouah’s directional accomplishment, the 49-year old got nominated in the Best Director Category for his directorial role in the sequel for Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.
The next movie star to score the second highest nominations was Toyin Abraham who got nominated in three categories.
The Nominees for this year’s award were announced during a live broadcast by Nollywood couple Ibrahim Suleiman and Linda Ejiorfor.
Awards will be presented in 28 categories, with seven of the 28 opened to public voting while 21 will be decided by the AMVCA panel of judges.
The African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is an annual accolade presented by Multichoice. It recognizes the outstanding achievement made in both television and film in Nigeria.
The year’s awards also see the addition of a new category, The Multichoice Talent Factory Award. Date for the award showpiece is yet to be released by organizes.
