Barely a week after he passed on September 12 2023, the Feel Good hitmaker has emerged as the 46th best-selling digital artist in the world, surpassing heavyweights artists such as Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj, and Eminem.
Mohbad musical works first made it to the Billboard charts and clinched three spots out of the top 10 songs listed. This was followed by the TurnTable Charts, where Mohbad’s music catalogue streams increased from 999,000 on-demand streams to over 8.02 million. That’s not all; Mohbad’s songs, ‘Peace’, ‘Feel Good’, and ‘Ask About Me’, have been rated number 1 on Spotify Nigeria, simultaneously topping across streaming platforms like Shazam, YouTube, iTunes, and Apple Music. Not a day goes by that Nigerians don’t get chills down their spine when they think of the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Mohbad. It’s been even more distressing watching the late artist garner more love, fame, and international recognition than he ever got while still alive.
