Richard Williams, the father of Tennis champions, Serena and Venus Willians, has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation. This happened after his speech didn’t make sense during a deposition amid his divorce battle.

He appeared at a deposition on June 8, 2018 but had ‘difficulty making himself understood’ and misinterpreted ‘many of the questions posed to him.

In court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, it was revealed that the 76-year-old was deposed on June 8, but had ‘great difficulty making himself understood’ and ‘appeared to misinterpret many of the questions posed to him’.

The deposition was postponed after attorneys for both parties agreed Williams should be evaluated to prove he can provide competent testimony.

The former tennis coach filed for divorce from his 38-year-old wife Lakeisha last June after accusing her of stealing his social security checks and forging his signature to transfer property into his name.

Richard suffered a major stroke in 2016, but was believed to be fit and healthy even though his estranged wife said in legal documents that he was suffering major ‘memory issues.’

He then went onto try and gain a violent protective order against her, claiming she was stalking him and Serena’s brother, Chaviota Lesane, who filed a similar lawsuit against his stepmom.
