Popular South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, professionally known as AKA, has taken to social media to reveal that he has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus.
AKA wants fans and followers to know that he is feeling ‘strong’ and ‘upbeat’ after contracting the novel virus.
The Cape Town born singer and producer made the disclosure in an official statement released via his Twitter page on Thursday, July 10, 2020.
In the statement, AKA noted that he decided to make the results of his test public in a bid to raise awareness about the pandemic and encourage caution amongst people in their daily activities.
“In an attempt to create awareness around the virus and to caution citizens to be more careful in their daily interactions with others, AKA has chosen to make his results public,” excerpt from the statement read.

He also adviced fans to go for test as soon as they display symptoms of the respiratory disease which involves coughing and weakness of the muscles.
He added “As soon as you feel that cough coming on, that headache… Weakness in your muscles. Chills at night. Trust me. GO TEST ASAP.”
