American singer Taylor Swift has revealed that her mum, Andrea Swift has been diagnosed with brain tumour.
In March last year, Taylor Swift opened up about how Andre Swift was battling with cancer in an essay she wrote for Elle Magazine.
“Both of my parents have had cancer, and my mom is now fighting her battle with it again,” she said at the time.
Now in the latest update about her mother’s health, the music star has more sad news. She revealed that a brain tumour was found while her mum was undergoing chemo for her cancer.
Taylor Swift, 30, made this known during an interview with Variety on Tuesday. She added that the symptoms from her mom’s tumour is nothing like what they have ever been through before, and it has taken its toll on the family.
“She was going through chemo, and that’s a hard enough thing for a person to go through. While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumor. And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before. So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family,” she said.
The ten-time Grammy Award winner also talked about the close relationship she shares with her mother.
“Everyone loves their mom; everyone’s got an important mom,” Swift said. “But for me, she’s really the guiding force.”
Andre Swift continues to undergo treatment.
