Storytelling and its ability to transform lives is the theme of the forthcoming The Extraordinary Lady Speaks conference taking place at Fairfields Hall, Croydon on Saturday May 16, 2015.

Speakers lined up to share their stories at this unique event include Laura Morrison, a
Business Mentor at the Cherie Blair Foundation, CNN Hero Betty Makoni, founder of the Girl Child Network Worldwide, Mandie Holgate, founder of the Business Women’s Network and Breast Cancer survivor Lisa Pattenden.

The conference is organised by Sandra Nelson, founder of ‘Lift Effects’, an organisation that hosts events designed to empower and envision those that attend to pursue their dreams and aspiration

Commenting on her forthcoming conference, Sandra stated, “Stories provide a very powerful medium through which transformational ideas can be relayed, information shared and dormant aspirations be awakened. The aim of bringing together some amazing women to speak at the Extraordinary Lady Speaks conference is to make people aware of some of the great things women are achieving and to inspire those present to make a positive difference in the world.”

As well as featuring talks from high achievers, The Extraordinary Lady Speaks conference will also feature the Star Awards, an initiative started in 2013 to recognise ladies that are Stars in their community, i.e., ordinary women who are allowing their light to shine by carrying out work and running projects that support others and help transform lives.

Sandra Nelson commented, “I believe it’s important to recognise those people that have sacrificed their time and resources towards making a difference in the lives of others and these are the true stars. The Star Award will be awarded to such rare species of ladies in our community.”

One of the major aims of Lift Effects events is to support community initiatives, and this year proceeds from the Extraordinary Lady Speaks conference will be donated to three charities Remedia Trust Foundation, that enables large companies and individuals to help the less fortunate in India, Girl Child Network Worldwide which promotes the rights of young girls in Africa and Glowing Future, which provides support and empowers victims of Domestic Violence.
