These top 5 incredibly movies are made by African movie makers and are one to watch, they will definitely change your mind about Nollywood movies. Note, not all the movies are out yet, however, keep your eyes on them.

 1. Confusion Na Wa

The movie traces the lives of a disparate group of individuals as their paths cross over the course of one day. Their result is a story of lust, infidelity, friendship, revenge, heartbreak and confusion. These movie is out  in Nigeria since early 2013 and is still making waves.

Kunle Afolayan doesn’t just make films, he makes events. Coming off the very hot and successful heels of ‘The Figurine’ and ‘’Phone swap’, he returns with a period mystery set against the backdrop of Nigeria’s independence celebration. Kunle Afolayan has recently shown a private screening for October 1st in Lagos. Viewers confessed that this is one of the movie that will change Nigerian Cinema. 


3. Dazzling Mirage

Tunde Kelani’s films may have their letdowns but non can argue he aces the test every time he helms any lens. He gathers a fine cast that includes Kunle Afolayan, Gabriel Afolayan and Lala Akindoju to bring to life the story about the sickle cell crisis and the effects on sufferers. We just can’t wait to see this movie with a griping emotional trailer.

 


4. Half Of A Yellow Sun

Woven around the relationship between twin sisters, HALF OF A YELLOW SUN is a very human story set against the backdrop of displacement, blockades, refugee camps and national ruin. In the face of devastation and loss, this is a story of resilience and hope told with a warmth and jaunty vibrancy that depicts life and its shifting fortunes in a deeply personal and intimate portrayal. HOYAS has been band in Nigeria, what a shame, but this doesn’t mean you can’t see it, there has to be a way. However, it has been shown in some selected cinemas in London and about to Premiere in America. Enjoy!


5. Living Funeral

Living Funeral tells the inspirational story of Yvette, a young woman coming to terms with the reality of her battle with breast cancer. It portrays the unbelievable journey of hope, valour and despair told through the eyes of the lead character’s sister (played by same actress – Stephanie Wilson) and her hard-hearted mother (Ameye) who struggled to come to terms with her daughter’s illness. To help her family deal with their anguish, Yvette holds a mock funeral while still alive. This movie marks the come back of Liz Benson now known as Liz Ameye, she was Nollywoods top actress back in the early days, if you miss her, these will be the movie to watch, but in overall, the story line is griping.
