Fans, lovers, colleagues, and family members of the late veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu, are saddened as he is finally laid to rest.
Africanglitz reported in March that the veteran actor, who had battled for his life for months, had kicked the bucket.
The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the news as he revealed he died of cardiac arrest.
His death threw the industry into mourning, as he was the beloved of many and had made our childhood memorable.
On Wednesday, a night of tribute was held for the late actor, and many of his colleagues were in attendance.
In photos making the rounds online, the actor’s wife and her children were captured looking solemn as they bade their father farewell.
Today, June 28th, a burial ceremony is currently taking place in his hometown of Enugu State, where the actor will be laid to rest. In clips and videos making the rounds, people could be seen wearing a somber look as the actor was laid to rest.

Recall that in October last year, Mr. Ibu cried out to the public for help as he battled an ailment.
Music sensations Davido and P-Square, along with popular personalities Tunde Ednut and Bukola Saraki, came to his aid.
The actor underwent seven surgeries, all of which were successful, and had his leg amputated twice. At some point, his health deteriorated, and the actor lost his voice in the process.
In January, he was discharged, and this left his fans and lovers excited; unfortunately, their joy was shortlived as he gave up the ghost two months later.
