Nigerian born Omarosa Manigault, age 43 who was director of communications for the White House’s office of public liaison, resigns her position. A $180,000 per annum Job.
Mrs Manigault will be vacating from the White House job on January 20, 2018, exactly a year after president Donald Trump took up the office.
Reasons for her resignation are not very clear, but the Trump aide, who is married to a Florida local pastor John Newman, is said to have been having issues with keeping her family and job intact.
However, other sources have said her departure is related to the “internal strife” currently plaguing the Trump cabinet. Her decision is yet to be seen as sparking a round of departures from the White House this new year as at least 14 people now have left Trump’s Government.
White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders said Ms Manigault Newman was quitting the Office of Public Liaison to “pursue other opportunities”.
“We wish her the best in future endeavours,” said press secretary Sarah Sanders.
Mrs Manigault Newman was often referred to by viewers as the “villain” on Mr Trump’s reality TV show the Apprentice.
During her tenure, she attracted controversy when she brought a 39-person wedding party to the White House for an impromptu photo shoot, according to Politico.
Over the summer, she caused an uproar at an event for black journalists, when she paced on stage while arguing with the panel’s moderator and refused to discuss her boss, President Trump.
Omarosa had been in charge of African-American outreach during Trump’s campaign. Most people think she was horrible at her job and was actually fired.
