BBNaija 2020: Erica Disqualified From Reality Show Following Party Outburst | Reaction

Controversial Big Brother Naija housemate Erica has been disqualified from Lockdown edition of the reality show.

Erica was disqualified from BBNaija Lockdown edition for her disturbing actions at the Saturday Night party.

The housemate has acquired controversial statues for her several misconducts in the house since the show began. She was already walking on thin ice as she had two strikes from previous errs.

Erica’s latest misbehavior during last night’s party, which saw her threaten to take the life of another housemate, earned her a third and final strike. She was automatically disqualified by organizers of the show on Sunday.

The 26-year old was dismissed by Biggie who first played clips of her shameful actions in the presence of other housemates at the lounge.

She becomes the first housemate to be evicted from this year’s edition of BBNaija, and the fifth in the show’s overall short history.

It would be recalled that Tacha was evicted from Biggie’s house though disqualification under similar circumstances at the fourth edition held in 2019.

On the other hand, Neo was also issued a strong warning for being an obstacle to a fellow housemate (Vee) which was an infringement to Big Brother house’s rules.

BBNaija 2020: Chaos in House as Erica Threatens to Kill Laycon

There was a major incident at Big Brother Naija house during Saturday’s night party as controversial housemate Erica verbally attacked Laycon and issued several threats to him, including the promise to take his life.

Erica confronted Laycon over his alleged claim to show host Ebuka that she tried to kiss him.

The housemate, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, rained down insults on Laycon, calling him ugly, a liar and someone who she never dreams of being with.

Erica said the only thing saving Laycon is Biggie, because she will kill him outside the house.

The angry reality star was out of control as she resisted all attempt by Kiddwaya and Trikytee to stop her from abusing him further. The week’s Head of House also lashed out at his deputy Prince.

Erica claimed Prince wasn’t supportive of her and went as far as pouring water on his side of the bed in the Head of House lounge so he would sleep outside.

In her own words: “Idiot, Short fool. Chicken. Your whole body is like a drumstick of chicken. Right now your brain is evil, so I’m not attracted to anything about you. Stop talking about me. Idiot.”

Erica latest tantrums have fans and viewers alike clamouring for her immediate disqualification on social media on the ground that she showed complete disregard of the BBNaija’s house rules.

Erica used to be in a love triangle with Laycon and Kiddwaya, but the billionaire son eventually won her over. The two housemates have been at loggerhead for weeks.

Big Brother Naija housemate Kiddwaya has listed pink-haired disk jockey DJ Cuppy as one of only three women he is comfortable with when it comes to showing off his emotional side.

Kidddaya made the surprise revelation to his in-house lover Erica during one of their personal conversations on Thursday, September 3, 2020.

Erica, who has repeatedly complained about his beau lack of openness towards her, sought to know if they were other women in his life he was more comfortable with showing his emotional side to.

Kiddwaya affirmed positively to her question, stating that there were only three of them. It didn’t end there as he went on to reveal the names of the women he has been emotionally vulnerable with his entire life.

The billionaire son mentioned his mother and manager alongside fellow billionaire child and top disk jockey, DJ Cuppy whom he called his ex.

He said: “Yes, there are three of them, my ex but it wasn’t enough to realize I was getting into it.

“My manager and probably Cuppy, so it’s just the three of them and that’s it. At least, I already said I wasn’t a robot.”

This comes after Kiddwaya had told Erica that he has no intention to continue with their relationship outside the house.

The 27-year old is one of six housemates nominated for possible eviction this week.

Respected Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has taken to social media to attack Nigerians who push celebrities to assume the role of activists by speaking out against government policies that are not favourable to the masses.

The movie star sounded the warning in a series of tweets via her Twitter page on Friday, September 4, 2020, where she maintained that celebrities are not politicians and it is not their job.

According to her, popular figures within the entertainment industry are no longer prepared to be embroiled in political confrontations with the government on behalf of the people while they themselves do nothing.

One of the tweets read: “It’s been a while but you see silence sometimes gives cretins the temerity to think that because the walls are down, goat fit climb house. Who are you pointing at to go fight for you? Celebrities koor, celebrities ni. What HAVE YOU DONE?? Have you been tear gassed before?”

This comes on the heels of the recent increase in electricity tariff and fuel price by the federal government.

IGNITE attracted over 3000 high-profile entrepreneurs, business growth experts, investors, artists, and innovators from North America, The Caribbean, Europe and across the African continent including global brands and affiliates such as Fuse ODG, Paul C Brunson, Chocolate City, Afropolitan, Ubiquitous Games, RocNation, Afrochella, OHUB, Africa Business Angel Network (ABAN), IFFAC (Roberta Annan), The Adinkra Group, Year of Return, The Tony Elumelu Foundation (Parminder Vir, former CEO) and GUBA (Dentaa Amoateng MBE). International Black-African venture investor contributors included Maya Horgan Famodu, Eric Osiakwan, Jude Addo, Hannah Subayi, Evelyne Dioh, and Rodney Sampson.

With over 40 virtual panels, workshops, interviews, presentations, and artiste performances featuring seasoned experts from a wide range of fields, the well-received festival shone a spotlight on bottom-up policy frameworks, tech, agriculture and creative industry opportunities as well as business insights from African music labels, artistes and professionals from around the world and served as an avenue for global, African and Diaspora conversations around bridging the racial wealth gap and the need to provide better, longer term support for Black and African Entrepreneurs

In addition to the need to integrate market research, data and analytics, there were also calls for more support for entrepreneurship development and acceleration service providers from government, corporations and international development partners.

“Africa supports over 400 companies that generate revenues over $1bn. Entrepreneurship is an important element of Leadership and brings with it a certain level of power that comes with financial independence. I applaud ScaleUp Africa for their efforts and for mastering technology so well to pull off an event of this calibre and global reach,” expressed Teresa Clarke, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Africa.com during the opening keynote address.

Bohani Hlungwane, Absa Group’s Head of Sales for Trade reiterated the need for “more support for Business Development Service Organisations.”

Attendees were encouraged to study macro-trends like digitalisation, self-reliant agriculture, tech and industrialisation as a way to boost their chances of growth and sustainable business success. Investors also shared their insights about their current deals in Africa during the Pandemic.

Tomi Davies, an African Angel Investment veteran of African Business Angel Network (ABAN) said: ”Corporations must understand that one of the best ways to innovate is to tap into the early stage entrepreneurial ecosystem. This is not to be viewed as old fashioned CSR or Charity. Engaging with and supporting the entrepreneurship ecosystem should be viewed as an integral part of Innovation, R&D and overall Strategy.”

”We must all lend a hand to support this effort and encourage more boards to report on entrepreneurship and innovation programmes as part of their Environmental, Social and Governance metrics,” added Joe Mensah, former President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana and Senior VP, Country Director of KOSMOS Energy Ghana.

“Let’s build up the trust, systems and partnerships required to grow better performing, job-creating businesses while delivering on social impact. There’s an entire community of entrepreneurial leaders that have built world-class talent, tech and solutions from Africa and beyond but it’s important to connect them to distribution channel opportunities that governments and corporations hold the keys to,” stated Amma Gyampo, co-founder of ScaleUp Africa on the importance of events like IGNITE Entrepreneurship Growth Festival.
