Nigerias’ Golden Eaglets yesterday, November 8, won the Fifa U17 World Cup for a record fifth time after beating Mali 2-0 in Chile. This is the 19th edition of the tournament. Two second half goals from Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye made it all happened. Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen won the Adidas Golden Boot while his teammate Kelechi Nwakali won the Adidas Golden Ball.
Apart from becoming the only team to win the trophy five times, the Eaglets also became only the second side to retain the cup after Brazil with yesterday’s victory.
