Roman Reigns, an American professional wrestler and former professional gridiron football player may not be appearing on WWE TV this summer, a new report has claimed. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Roman Reigns. He is the current and longest-reigning WWE Universal Champion in his second reign, as well as the current WWE Champion in his fourth reign, making him the undisputed world champion of WWE. He is part of the Anoaʻi family, which also includes his father Sika Anoaʻi, brother Rosey, and cousins Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Rikishi, The Tonga Kid, and the late Yokozuna and Umaga.

WWE TV is pretty much built around Roman Reigns right now, as has been the case since roughly 2015.

That could be about to change though, as the report state that Reigns could be taking a hiatus from WWE this summer.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Reigns has been removed from all advertisements for shows between June 19 until September 5.

“He was removed from all shows, his last show is June 19 until after Labor Day, so I dont know what the situation is other than hes scheduled for the 2 PPV shows.”

There’s no way that WWE would not be promoting Reigns for three months worth of shows if he was going to be appearing on them, so it seems like he’s set to take some time away this summer.

Of course, it’s worth noting that this hasn’t been confirmed by WWE right now, but while the situation could change, it doesn’t look like Reigns will be ranging around between June and September.

Meltzer does say that Reigns is advertised for WWE’s stadium shows during that period, Money in the Bank and SummerSlam, so perhaps he’ll still be at those shows, even if he’s not on TV.

This comes after it was reported that Reigns has signed a new WWE contract for fewer dates, and this report would seemingly suggest that those reports were accurate.

Meltzer also explained that while he isn’t sure, Reigns taking some time away from WWE could indicate that he’s taking on other projects, such as a movie.

Again, it’s worth noting that this is just speculation from Meltzer, and he isn’t reporting that the ‘Tribal Chief’ has been cast in a movie.

Reigns is unlikely to be the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion by this summer, if he is going to be taking some time away from WWE.

Reigns is unlikely to be allowed to take time off while still the champion with just one top champion, so perhaps WWE is preparing to have him drop the belts?

If he does drop the titles, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes are likely the two top candidates to take them off him.
