Once again, Nollywood has been thrown into mourning after the industry lost one of its finest and fast-rising actors named Karibi Fubara to cancer. The “God Calling” star who doubles as a prince from the Opobo Kingdom was diagnosed with a large mid-stage kidney tumor in April of 2020.

By May of that year, he had undergone a successful surgery in Nigeria to remove 90 per cent of the malignant tumor. This was just in time for him to join his colleagues on the set of the Nollywood Netflix blockbuster, Smart Money Woman, and also in time to celebrate his August 30th birthday. Unfortunately, by October of 2020, he was forced to travel to Dubai to receive chemotherapy treatment. He has been in and out of the Clemenceau Medical Centre, a hospital in Dubai where he was receiving treatment. Despite fighting for his life and dealing with immense pain, the actor was more focused on living each day as his best.

Sadly, precisely 20 months after his diagnosis, Karibi gave up the battle after fighting so hard. Many Nollywood actors and actresses have begun commiserating with the deceased’s family, including Deyemi Okanlawon, Toni Tones, Mo Abudu, Funke Akindele, Late Henshaw, Toolz, Waje, Linda Ejiofor, Sharon Ooja, Tayo Faniran, Osas Ighodaro, Ibrahim Sulieman and the list keep growing. Who is Karibi Fubara? Sit back as we look into his early childhood, education, career, and the sad truth about his fight with cancer. #KaribiFubara #WhoisKaribiFubara #NollywoodactorKaribiFubara
