On the 18th November, Fulham’s Craven Cottage plays host to only the second ever match between Italy and Nigeria. This fixture conjures up memories of the 1994 World Cup match in which the Super Eagles took the eventual runners up into extra time before Roberto Baggio dashed any Nigerian dreams appearing in the World Cup final.

There are a lot of similarities to the first game, Nigeria are a young team with some great talent and  are also the African champions. Back in 1994 a young Jay Jay Okocha was showcasing his talents on the world stage this time it’s Victor Moses, a young man who on his day is every part the superstar.

2014 is an extremely important year for the Super Eagles, first up is their defence of the African Nations Cup and then to compete in the World Cup after they beat Ethiopia just yesterday. Playing against Italy is the perfect match in which to judge the quality of players against the four time World Cup winners and of course places are up for grabs in next years squad.

Kick off is 7:45 and tickets are still available for the game with prices starting from £25 for adults and £15 for juniors, so get down and show your support for Nigeria.
