Serena Williams has been fined $17,000 for US Open Violations

World Tennis Champion, Serena Williams has been fined $17,000 by the US Tennis Association for three code violations at the US Open. Williams who lost the final US Open game to a first timer, 20-year old Naomi Osaka, tot into a heated argument with the umpire Carlos Ramos, calling him a liar and a cheat for penalising her over alleged coaching.

Apparently, that violates the US Open code and she was on the wrong to do that. Serena was also penalised for breaking her racket in anger.

Serena also accused Ramos of sexism.

According to Sky News, the fine is made up of $10,000 for the verbal abuse offence, $4,000 for coaching, and $3,000 for racket abuse.

Naomi Osaka became the first Japanese and first Haitian to win a grand slam title.
