As the 2019/2020 season comes to an end, its mix blessings for teams as well as their coaches, Jurgen  Klopp Liverpool have crowned champions and earned the bragging rights as substantive “air benders”   while other teams played catch up with their own avatars in a league of extraordinary men. The premiership this outgoing season has nine English, two German, Portuguese and Spanish, one Norwegian, Northern Irish, Italian, Austrian and one interim manager respectively, and we would take a quick cruise along to name them as we also look at their performances in the outgoing  season, and our considerations will be five teams, the champions,  their close title contenders, some champions league position contenders who later became mid-table contenders and one relegation battling team

Liverpool’s dramatic improvement under Jurgen  Klopp is best illustrated by the fact they are 16 points better off in the Premier League (as at the time of this write up) than at the same stage last season. The Reds have stormed into a six-point lead at the top of the standings at the halfway point of the season and the odds are shortening on them ending a 29-year wait for league glory. Liverpool remains unbeaten in as many games as we reach the turn of the campaign and have shown the biggest improvement in terms of points of anyone in the top-flight. They secured a place in the next season’s Champions League by virtue of being Champions, although their finish in the Premier League would have had them anyway. The 51-year old was born in Stuttgart, Germany.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said the individual achievements of his players must be viewed in relation to the team’s success and consistency after Raheem Sterling’s brace sealed a 4-0 Premier League win over Watford on last Tuesday. City forward Sterling’s first-half goals took his league tally to 19 goals for the season, but Guardiola reminded his players that they were 15 points behind champions, Liverpool, at the time having played one match less, The result meant that Guardiola’s side have won four league games in a row for the first time this season and the Spaniard said his team had to be more consistent to challenge for the title in the 2020-21 campaign, the 48-year-old manager was born in Santpedor, Spain.

Arteta was appointed in December following the sacking of Unai Emery, taking over from interim coach Freddie Ljungberg when the club was 11th in the standings. But he was unable to bridge the gap to the top four despite guiding them to more wins. Fourteen draws – the most for Arsenal in a 38-game as at the time of this writ, were a major contributing factor to the club’s failure to qualify for Europe. Arteta said finishing eighth and winning the FA Cup to qualify for the Europa League would not count as a satisfying end to the season. At 37 years of age, Arteta is the youngest active Premier League, manager.

Tottenham fans would love to start the 2019/20 season again following a hugely disappointing year at the club. Knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two side Colchester United back in September, their dismal start to the campaign continued and it culminated with Mauricio Pochettino losing his job. Jose Mourinho was the man to replace the Argentine at the helm and he has endured an up and downtime during his first four months in N17. Having cut Chelsea’s 12-point lead over them in the top-four race down, Spurs just haven’t been able to leapfrog their rivals and are now seven points behind them with the league ending this weekend. Jose Mourinho, or Jose Mario dos Santos Mourinho Felix, is one of two active Portuguese Managers in the Premier League

Under different managers, Watford had been trying different formations and under Pearson, the players performed quite well under a 4-2-3-1 system. For the first phase of their attack, they did not insist on playing out from the back, as it is reflected below in the weak passing links between Craig Dawson, Craig Cathcart, and Nathaniel Chalobah. Their top passing links occurred between their attacking players, with Abdoulaye Doucouré connecting Gerard Deulofeu and Sarr. These players are pivotal to the attack as they have improved recently, which is also a topic we will explain. Another point to note is Troy Deeney, whose average position nearly overlapped with Doucouré in as many games. The skipper utilized his aerial dominance and Watford played directly, Nigel Graham Pearson was born 21 August 1963 he is an English football manager.
