prominent Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has addressed her fans and followers for the first since getting into trouble with the legal system for breaking social distancing order.
Funke Akindele says she has learned a lot over the past few weeks and has moved on from the aftermath of her arrest and penalization for ridiculing coronavirus lockdown laws.
On Sunday, April 19, 2020, the actress shared a video on her Instagram page where she thanked everyone for their love and support while she was in police custody.
According to the Jennifer Dairy creator, she has learned a lot during her trial and prosecution.
Speaking further, she also reiterated on the true existence of Covid-19. Funke went on to state that people can join forces with the government in the fight against the virus when they adhere to lockdown orders by staying at home.
“These past few weeks have been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward. My dear friends, coronavirus is real. We must collaborate with the Lagos State Government and Federal Government by staying at home, staying safe,” she said.
On Saturday, April 4, Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skills angered both Nigerians and those in authority by hosting a birthday party at their house.
The party, which was attended by more than 20 people including Naira Marley, was in violation of social distancing order and led to the arrest and conviction of the couple.
