Back with a bang! The much-loved annual musical celebration, Robin Pieters: It’s A Love Thing Vol.2 will perform at Grand Arena next year, to celebrate Valentine’s Day with some of SA’s biggest musicians sharing the stage with Cape Town-born singer, Robin Pieters.

Pieters will perform on the Grand Arena stage at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World for the first time headlining his very own show at the prestigious venue. Earlier this year, Robin performed to a sold-out venue at the Baxter Theatre for a three-day run of the first installment of It’s A Love Thing Vol.1.

The former background vocalist-turned-professional singer will take to the stage alongside amazingly talented artists in the global and South African music industry as they share, captivate and mesmerise audiences with their voices on Wednesday 14 February 2018.

Says Pieters: “Filling up the Grand Arena is probably the scariest thing ever but I have no doubt that my show will be sold out! Every artist on this bill means the world to me and has played a part in my journey.”

Joining Pieters on stage in this much-anticipated one-night only Valentine’s Day concert, are: international singing sensation and Whitney Houston tribute singer, Belinda Davids; BET Award-nominated singer and songwriter, Lira; former Idols winner and businesswoman, Karin Kortje; Worcester-born artist, Elwira Standili as well as recently-crowned Idols SA season 13 winner, Paxton Fielies.

In 2016, Robin took to the national live stage as a contestant on the first ever The Voice South Africa, reality TV show. His first (blind) audition wowed the audience and all four coaches swivelled their chairs without hesitation, leaving him in tears. As part of #TeamLira, Robin captivated the audience and won the hearts of South African viewers.

Pieters says he is “beyond excited and humbled” to have secured some of the country’s top female singers for this concert – including his vocal coach from The Voice South Africa: singer and songwriter, Lira.

“Mama Lira, Thank you for giving me the chance of a life time. Being a finalist on the first season of The Voice South Africa changed my life forever. Yes I had a four-chair turn but I knew from the very start I wanted you to be a part of my journey! Thank you for your guidance and love.”

For Pieters, getting singer and Whitney Houston impersonator to perform on stage with him is “a real coup”.

“Belinda and I have come a long way and I am such a massive fan of her musical talent. I’m so grateful to her for taking the time out of her busy international tour schedule to be apart of this show,” admits Pieters.

Kortje, who also recently performed at Grand Arena earlier in August this year, will once again join Pieters on stage to celebrate love, during the month of February next year.

“For years I was your back up singer, Karin. You always gave me an opportunity to shine. I believe while working with you God was preparing me for my solo career. Thank you for your friendship, love and support – and for always having my back.”

Fans can also look forward to another long-time friend of Pieters on the bill: Elwira Standili – an fellow reality TV show alumni from Idols South Africa and Worcester-born songstress.

“Our journey began at Idols SA and God has blessed you with a powerful voice and I can’t wait for you to bring the house down again!”

The line-up is completed by the addition of Idols SA season 13 winner: Paxton Fielies, for whom Pieters can’t wait to share the stage with.

“Since your first audition I knew that this was a ‘star-in-the-making’. Every week I watched the show saw how you blossomed into this beautiful flower. We are so proud of you. You are a beacon of hope in our community a breath of fresh air and an inspiration to our youth. Welcome to the industry and welcome to #ItsalovethingVol2.”
