Football superstar Christiano Ronaldo has become the first individual in the world to reach 200 million followers on Instagram.
Ronaldo reached the incredible feat on Thursday, January 30, 2020, and took to his verified page on the picture-sharing app to celebrate his latest achievement.
The Juventus forward celebrated the
achievement with an Instagram montage of his previous posts.
“Wow 200 million!!! Thank you to each and every one of you for sharing this journey with me every day,” he wrote.
Ronaldo ranks second to the official page of Instagram in overall followers (330m). The top 5 spot behind him is dominated by celebrities in the showbiz industry. They include Ariana Grande (173m), Dwayne Johnson (170m), Selena Gomez 167m), Kyle Jenner (160m) and Kim Kardashian (158m).
His nearest sporting rivals in the follower stakes are Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (142m) and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar (132).
The Seria A star also lead the way for most-liked athlete on Facebook with 122m likes. Ronaldo isn’t relaxed with breaking records on the football pitch. He is also doing it on social media.
