American singer Lizzo is on this month’s cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, where she has declared that she will continue to take fashion risks.
In an interview with the magazine, Lizzo spoke about her plus-sized body and how she has fought off online trolls who throw jabs at her body on social media.
The Grammy award nominee who posed nude for the latest edition of Rolling Stone magazine, says everyone will have to get used to her style of life because she won’t stop wearing semi-nude clothes or posing nude on social media.
“I’m so much more than that. Because I actually present that, I have a whole career, it’s not a trend. As a black woman, I make music for people, from an experience that is from a black woman, I’m making music that hopefully makes other people feel good and helps me discover self- love. That message I want to go directly to black women, big black women, black trans women. Period,” she said
Lizzo spoke further about dealing with her own body image struggles and how she wants to be known for so much more than her body.
“I’ve come to terms with body dysmorphia and evolved. The body-positive movement is doing the same thing. We’re growing together, and it’s growing pains, but I’m just glad that I’m attached to something so organic and alive,” she added
Lizzo became one of the biggest breakthrough artists of 2019 with nine Grammy nominations. The flutist is also one of the most talked-about celebs in the United States, thanks to her bold adventures on Instagram, where she shares photos of herself in body revealing clothes.
