Lord Mayor of Birmingham Carl Rice at BABEXPO 2016

The First ever African-Caribbean Business Expo (BABEXPO) took place in Birmingham on Nov 12, 2016. The event was officially opened by Lord Mayor Of Birmingham City, Cllr Carl Rice, Lady Mayoress Mrs Deed Curry and Aston & Newtown City Ambassador For Trade, Councillor Alli  who were also guests of honour.

At the business event hosted by Yinka Shonowo, the lord Mayor  Cllr Carl Rice with great delight and encouragement said Entrepreneurs made this city, and the reason why I was very very kin to come here today to join with you is to celebrate the people who take risks with their own money, who probably work hard than everybody else and who are creating the businesses of the feature, this city future it going to be with small medium size businesses.
So i’m really really pleased to support you in your endeavour to make this success of your own lives and so doing you will make a success of this great city of Birmingham”.

The Mayor and Mayoress after declaring the event open, went from exhibitor to exhibitor to have a brief chat as well as take pictures with the lucky business owners.


As the first and biggest African-Caribbean business expo, there were over fifty exhibitors on the day, refreshment, entertainment amongst networking between buyers and sellers. One of the great highlights of the day was when entrepreneur Olusola Adeniyi CEO ACE Events London won a brand  new Audi car during businesses raffle draw, a courtesy of Audi cars who were also involve in the event. Every business entrepreneur on the day also opportunity to talk about their businesses on stage.

Popular businesses and partners who made the event possible includes: BEN TV, Parry Building Worldwide, Audi Fleet,Kaft Trendz,SAMISBirmingham, Zenith Estate Agents, African Dazzle Magazine,Popmate Popcorn,British African Business Alliance,Original Ayamashe , MC Exclusive among others.
 

“With gratitude to God for his mercy, we hereby appreciate everyone that attended BAB EXPO In Birmingham. It was a beginning of greater things to come to businesses and entrepreneurship in the west midlands. Said the event organiser, Mr Tunde Sodeinde.

“Special thanks to the Lord Mayor Of Birmingham City,Cllr Carl Rice and the Lady Mayoress, Mrs Deed Curry who out of their regular schedules took time to have fun with all our exhibitors & partners”. he added. Mr Tunde also thanked the exhibitors who from London, Milton-Keynes, Liverpool, Nigeria among others to experience the great day.
