Together with charitable organization, HOPE Cape Town, radio and TV presenter, Kia Johnson, has launched a campaign to give back this August.

The 2000FM daily breakfast show co-anchor is supporting HOPE Cape Town’s numerous projects, hoping to make a difference this Women’s Month by raising awareness of the various HOPE Cape Town charitable initiatives.

HOPE Cape Town aims to address the HIV and AIDS pandemic and related diseases by providing access to education, treatment and on-going support within the existing provincial and municipal health structures in the Western Cape.

Some of the charitable causes they’re supporting include projects at Tygerberg Children’s Hospital, Blikkiesdorp as well as Manenberg Aftercare Centre.

Kia is calling on the public to support her and HOPE Cape Town, in making things more manageable and relieving the stress of those affected by HIV/Aids in the Western Cape this year.

“We are asking any person from any walk of life to assist us with clothes, stationary, canned foods, shoes, blankets, toys as well as toiletries this Women’s Month. While the initiative is being launched this month, hopefully this is the start for a brighter and more pleasant future for those lives we are touching through this campaign,” she said.

HOPE Cape Town Donor Relations Manager, Fahim Docrat, added “We are very excited about this initiative and invite the public to get on board and also connect with us to find out what we do and visit our many projects. Only with support from the public can we continue to bring hope to those in need.”

The collection and drop off points include ‘Shado Shoes’ known as ‘Shado Wholesale’, at their various branches in the Southern Suburbs, Northern Suburbs and the Cape Town CBD. For more details, visit: http://shado.co.za/

Additional drop off points for this initiative include: Mediterranean Villa guest house in Tamboerskloof and Tygerberg Hospital’s Hope Ward (7th floor).

Hope Cape Town is also running with their continuous project, the “Hope Hero” campaign, of which people can pledge their support through an SMS line. Donations of R30 each can be made by SMSing “HOPE” to 42409.
