‘In A Strange Land’ press conference took place on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Amba hotel in central London. The anticipated movie directed by Teru Ekuerahare, Produced by Roseline Sanni-Ajose and co-Produced by William Kemeh saw the likes of Mayor of Greenwich Olu Babatola, Debbie Ariyo OBE among others at the conference.
The evening started off with co-producer William Kemeh giving a speech. Director of the movie, Teru Ekuerahare also spoke addressing his role in the movie. Mayor Olu Babatola of Greenwich addressed Modern Day Slavery in the UK and around the world. While congratulating the team, he also assured them of his assistance in the future.
Debbie Ariyo OBE and CEO of AFRUCA talked about the fight against human trafficking. Alhaji Awwal and Pastor David Olufemi Sanni looked at the religious side of Modern day slavery and how everyone can help to eradicate the act since abolishing slavery was once achieved. Councillor Yasmine of Enfield talked about the role of Enfield Council in the fight against human trafficking. Dr Popoola talked about the 4p’s among other trivial issues.
Actress and Producer; Roseline Sanni-Ajose spoke about dropping other projects to make ‘In a Strange Land’, seeing it was a big issue that needed to be addressed. As a Theatre nurse, caring for human lives comes first hence why she felt the need for such film which will not only create awareness but help fight the act of modern day slavery.
The cast and crew who were present at the event, they were congratulated and commended for a job well done. Refreshment was available throughout the event. Attendees networked at the end of the event which started and also ended on time.
