The announcement of the wedding date between the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his second wife, Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda, has been made official. Akinmuda is one of six women whom he married later in 2022. Although the traditional rites were performed in her hometown, the wedding did not take place due to Akinmuda’s absence from Nigeria at the time.
According to invitation cards sent by the palace, the wedding Thanksgiving service and celebration is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
The occasion will be preceded by the Queen’s ceremonial arrival into Ile-Ife’s old Ife Oodua Palace on Thursday, May 18.
In 2022, the monarch chose six wives, including Elizabeth, after failed marriages with Olori Naomi and Queen Wuraola.

Between September and October 2022, the monarch married six women. His first wife was Mariam Anako, an Ebira from Kogi State, on September 6, 2022.
The very next day, on September 7, 2022, he married Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, who hails from Ondo, which is the latest one he is about to wed.
His third wife, Tobi Phillips, a native of Okitipupa in Ondo State, was married on October 9, 2022.
The monarch then went on to marry Ashley Afolashade Adegoke, an Ile-Ife Princess, on October 14, 2022, as his fourth wife.
Ronke Ademiluyi, another Ile-Ife Princess, became his fifth wife on October 20, 2022. The monarch’s sixth wife, Princess Temitope Adesegu, was married on October 24, 2022.
Queen Naomi’s dramatic exit from the Ife palace in 2021 led her to share details on her Instagram about why she left the place and renounced her position as royalty.
She, however, sparked speculation that the King has a dual personality and is not what he portrayed himself to be on the outside. She said in part:
“I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on.
